From the trassXpress mountain station, the hike leads across rolling alpine meadows and through picturesque forests up to the Maurerkogel (2,074 m). Once at the top, a breathtaking 360° panoramic view of the surrounding peaks awaits. After a relaxing break, we return to the Schmittenhöhe – a mountain experience not to be missed!

Discover the unique features of the trough valley and its glittering green mineral treasure: the precious emeralds, along the Emerald Trail with a National Park Ranger. You'll also learn how to search for stones and where exactly searching is permitted. Keep your eyes peeled for golden eagles and marmots, and at the end of the tour, enjoy a cozy stop at Alpengasthof Alpenrose. Then you can decide for yourself whether you'd like to hike back down the valley with the ranger or take the emerald taxi.

Deep in the heart of the Hohe Tauern lies a true rarity: the Hochfeld show mine. Since the 1990s, the former mine has been transformed into an interactive exhibition that now offers fascinating insights into the geology of the Alps and the history of the national park. 

During a guided tour, you'll learn how the Tauern Window formed, how rock formations have evolved over millions of years, and the role mining played in this area. A special highlight is the vernissage "Inner Life" by the artist Mag.kunst. Michael Alexander Seywald, currently on display in the mine tunnels.

Entering Kaprun Castle feels like stepping back in time. Centuries-old walls tell of knights, counts, and turbulent times. The first documented mention of the castle dates back to the 13th century, but its history likely goes back even further. 

The castle tour begins at 5:00 PM and includes exciting stories about the building's history. Afterward, you can explore the castle rooms, the castle museum, the dungeon, and various photo spots on your own. A special highlight is the castle's highest point, from which you'll have a unique view of Lake Zell!

Grossglockner panorama and hike to the Seidlwinkl Valley! Start in Rauris by bus and enjoy a ride with a National Park Ranger along Austria's highest panoramic road – a unique view of the majestic mountains surrounding the Grossglockner! The hike begins at the Mittertörl and gradually descends into the Seidlwinkl Valley. Via the Labböden and Litzlhofalm, you'll reach the Rauriser Tauernhaus in the early afternoon, where the tour ends. The return trip is best made by taxi. An impressive natural experience!

Every Wednesday, yoga instructor Monika Rauter invites beginners and experienced yogis to a special yoga session on the mountain. After a short hike to a scenic viewpoint near the Schmitten summit, the yoga mats are rolled out. Surrounded by mountain flowers and alpine meadows, you can enjoy strengthening asanas and relaxing breathing exercises – with a panorama that soothes body and mind.

Discover the pristine beauty of the Sulzbachtäler Wilderness. First, we take the national park bus to Abichlalm, where the tour begins. The trail leads through a sparse larch forest to Aschamalm. From here, you can explore the heart of the Sulzbachtäler Wilderness off-road, reaching the impressive Untersulzbachkees. The return hike follows the same path. Experience the untouched nature of this pristine landscape. It will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression.

In 1986, the first bearded vulture was released into the Alps in the Kruml Valley. The goal was to reintroduce this once-extinct "king of the skies" in the Netherlands. During the excursion through the wild and romantic Kruml Valley, you'll learn interesting facts about these large birds of prey. During short stops, telescopes are set up to scan the mountaintop ridges for birds. With a bit of luck, you might spot bearded vultures, griffon vultures, black vultures, golden eagles, and other wildlife.

Experience the power of the water in the Schösswend Gorge, where the current has been carving through the hard rock for thousands of years, creating impressive erosion features and hollows. Continue along the gorge to the idyllic Hintersee lake and learn interesting facts about the flora and fauna of the Hinterer Felbertal valley. On the north side of the lake, the circular walk leads to a viewpoint overlooking the valley floor, where, with a bit of luck, you might spot chamois. The return journey follows the same route.

The tour leads to Lake Ötzlersee, where you officially enter the Hohe Tauern National Park. The route continues along a narrow path along the Schöderbach stream towards the Arlscharte, deeper and deeper into the national park. At the end of the tour, you'll arrive at Lake Schödersee, a unique mountain lake known as a periodic lake due to its natural underground outflow, filling only with water during melting snow and heavy rainfall.

Follow the babbling Hollersbach stream along the idyllic stream path to the Senningeralm. Through the rustic Grauerlenau region, with its mosses, ferns, and the impressive butterbur, the path continues into the spruce forest, where bright yellow lichens and, with a bit of luck, even water sprigs can be spotted. Shortly before the mountain pasture, you pass historic dry stone cliffs, after which the valley opens up to the vast alpine landscape at the Senningeralm. Here the tour ends – time for a relaxing break or the return trip.

After a short taxi ride to Finkau, the hike begins along a well-maintained path to the Leitenkammerklamm Gorge. From the viewing platforms, you'll have impressive views of the roaring gorge. Along the stream, you can spot dippers and yellow wagtails. A path leads through rustic pine forests via the Trisslalm up to the Wildkar Hochalm. The return journey takes you along the picturesque Leitenkammersteig back to the starting point. A true nature experience!

Picturesque landscape surrounded by three-thousand-metre peaks – The tour leads from the Tauernhaus to the picturesque Käfertal valley along a well-maintained forest path, beneath the "Großes Wiesbachhorn" and its impressive glacier world. Observe the inhabitants of the alpine meadows and pastures, including approximately 300 species of beetles and almost 200 large butterflies. At the end, you'll find a Kneipp facility and a water playground for children.

A National Park Ranger will lead you past the highlights of the TOP OF SALZBURG, with a special focus on the 360-meter-long information tunnel of the National Park Gallery – a mystical experience for all the senses! At the end of the tunnel, a breathtaking panoramic view awaits you from the National Park Gallery platform. Here you can admire the Grossglockner, Austria's highest mountain.

If you like fishing, this is highly recommended, but it is also fun if you have never done it before. Guidance is available.

A fishing rod can be rented for €5.70 euros and you pay 2 euros for the fishing card for 1 day. Bait you can use from there. You can fish unlimitedly, but you are obliged to keep the fish you catch.

Innergeschloß

A beautiful route with tractor with trailer of half an hour to a nostalgic village at the foot of the Großvenediger.Delicious in the village look around and then on foot back. Also good to do with children.
A very nice hike with many photo opportunities.

The horse-drawn carriage was replaced a few years ago by the panorama train. It runs every hour in the Gschlößtal from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. to the Venedigerhaus Innergschlöß; it returns every half hour from the Venedigerhaus Innergschlöß to the Matreier Tauernhaus. The single fare for adults is €5.00 to the Außergeschlöß, €7.00 to the Innergschlöß; children up to 12 years of age pay €3.00; the group fare (from 20 people) is €12.00 per person round trip.
